I first glimpsed the Nyami Nyami where the river narrowed between ancient cliffs, its serpentine form rising only briefly before disappearing beneath the dark waters. The elders warned that it is neither cruel nor kind—it simply embodies the river’s untamed strength, answering only to the ancient balance of nature. Those who seek to dominate it are often swept away by the very force they believed they could master. I left the river understanding that true power is not found in control, but in learning when to yield, when to stand firm, and when to allow the current within to flow freely.
